    My Services

Outdoor tiling is different. Sydney weather – blazing sun, heavy rain, salt air near the coast – it all affects tiles. I’ve learned what products work and how to install them to last.

Just finished a pool area in Cronulla yesterday. Previous tiles lasted 3 years before salt air got to them. Used marine-grade adhesive and porcelain tiles this time. Will last 20+ years now.

What makes my outdoor tiling last:

    • Right tiles for outdoor use
    • Proper drainage and falls
    • Movement joints where needed
    • Quality adhesives and grout
    • Sealed against weather
    • Experience with Sydney conditions

    Service Details

    Patio & Entertainment Areas

Transform your backyard into useable space. Level surface for furniture, easy to clean after BBQs, looks great year-round.

Did a big entertainment area in Castle Hill last month. 80m² including built-in BBQ area. Now their favourite part of the house.

    Patio services:

    • Full patio tiling
    • BBQ areas
    • Outdoor kitchens
    • Garden paths
    • Pergola areas

    Patios from $65/m²

    Balcony Tiling & Waterproofing

Balconies need serious waterproofing. Water getting through causes massive damage. I do it right first time.

Emergency call last week – Bondi balcony leaking into apartment below. Previous tiler didn’t waterproof properly. Fixed it, now fully sealed.

    Balcony work includes:

    • Complete waterproofing
    • Proper drainage falls
    • Weather-resistant tiles
    • Movement joints
    • Edge sealing

    Balcony tiling from $95/m²

    Driveway & Path Tiling

Yes, you can tile driveways. Need thick tiles (20mm+) and proper base preparation. Looks better than plain concrete.

Recently did front path in Balmain. Federation style home, chose tiles to match period. Massive street appeal improvement.

    Driveway/path options:

    • Full driveways
    • Front entries
    • Garden paths
    • Side passages
    • Garage floors

    Tiling Process

    1. Site Assessment: Visit your property, check levels and drainage. Discuss how you use the space. Identify any issues. Free quote with solutions.
    2. Product Selection: Help choose right tiles for your situation. Consider slip ratings, weather resistance, maintenance needs. Guide you to what works.
    3. Proper Preparation: Most important step. Level surface, waterproofing if needed, correct falls for drainage. This is where cowboys fail.
    4. Quality Installation: Use outdoor-rated adhesives. Full coverage under every tile. Movement joints placed correctly. Built to last decades.

    Costs Explained

    What affects outdoor pricing:

    • Area size and access
    • Current surface condition
    • Waterproofing requirements
    • Tile choice
    • Pattern complexity
    • Drainage work needed

    Typical costs:

    • Small balcony (10m²): $1,200-1,500
    • Average patio (30m²): $2,100-2,850
    • Pool surround (50m²): $4,250-6,000
    • Large entertainment area: $5,000+

Quotes include everything – no surprises.

    Tile Selection

    • Porcelain Pavers: My top recommendation. Strong, weather-proof, huge range of styles. Don’t fade or absorb water.
    • Natural Stone: Beautiful but needs sealing. Sandstone, granite, bluestone popular. I explain maintenance honestly.
    • Concrete-Look Tiles: Modern option. Looks like polished concrete but more practical. Great for contemporary homes.
    • Slip Resistance: R11 minimum for outdoor. R12 for pools. I only install appropriate ratings.

    What to Avoid

    • Indoor tiles (will fail)
    • Polished surfaces (slippery)
    • Cheap tiles (false economy)
    • Dark colours in full sun (get burning hot)

    Areas I Service

    • Coastal Areas: Bondi to Cronulla – lots of pool work. Salt air expertise essential.
    • North Shore: Big entertainment areas in Mosman, Neutral Bay. Quality expectations high.
    • Inner West: Courtyards and small spaces in Newtown, Balmain. Creative solutions for tight areas.
    • Western Sydney: Large blocks in Parramatta, Castle Hill. Big patios and pool areas.
    • Northern Beaches: Manly to Palm Beach. Beach house style, weather-resistant focus.

Travel anywhere for outdoor work. Most jobs multi-day so distance fine.

    Why Choose Me?

    • Weather Experience: 16 years dealing with Sydney weather. Know what fails and why. Your tiles will handle whatever Sydney throws at them.
    • Problem Prevention: See where others went wrong. Poor drainage, no waterproofing, wrong adhesive. I prevent these issues.
    • Quality Products Only: No shortcuts on materials. Outdoor needs outdoor-rated everything. Costs more but lasts decades.
    • Warranty Confidence: 7-year warranty on outdoor work. Still here to honour it. Many cowboys disappear after 2 years.
